PRC should be overhauled!

News today: "... ang bahid (stigma) ay hindi mabubura ng retake..." (bandila - source: Oct. 4, 2006)

I think it is best to have a retake, than do nothing at all. She is so damn stupid of trying to point out their faulty statistical conversion on the licensure exams. Imagine a 100 item test being replaced by a statistical mean. This should be nullified. It doesn't cover anything of that 100 item test!

Her reason is such an alibi not to have a retake. Sobra nga naman ang pagod nila sa pagdodoctor ng score.

I just hate it, PRC has no integrity! PRC should be overhauled! Paano nga naman matatangal ang stigma if the culprits are still free!

This is a suggestion, and it would be best kung pati PRC eh kakasuhan ng administrative case for the leak in the exams! Matatangal lang naman ang stigma if PRC is dissolved, the people involved including PRC officials will be sued for their liabilities, (at hindi lang yung mock trial, na after which wala na), have another set of exams to be retaken, and have another set of officials to govern it, at hindi yung officials na enclosed sa time ng leak!

Paano na lang yung ibang professions na nagtatake ng board exams, not just the nursing profession. Damn, nakakaawa naman, walang integridad ang nagpapatest sa kanila. How can Philippines have qualified professionals if the one conducting the licensure exams were rotten. As the saying goes, magtabi ka ng bulok na kamatis sa hindi bulok na kamatis, makikita mo pagkalipas ng ilang oras lahat bulok na!

EO for compulsory retake of nursing licensure exams.

Though i don't condemn the nursing board passers, I think it's time that they make the supreme sacrifice of retaking the licensure exams. The reason is simple: by statistically (though still had fraud) computing and removing the questions that had leak, it may not holistically render a qualified nurse afterwards. I know that it's hard to review, give all your effort and time for the examination, but still do the sacrifice of retaking the exams, to fully remove the stigma.

Though the government acted late, i still acknowledge their effort to eradicate fraud on the PRC and the profession. Why not erradicate the fraud in the presidential elections too?

champions, any comments?

Now to those of you all questioning the integrity and capability of the UST basketball team, think again, we defeated ateneo at the championship match. It only proves that UST is qualified to be in the final four, and it vindicates the allegation and issue that UST administration had paid forth a player from UE just to be in the final four. Hope you distrators learn from the experience.

UE alleges UST's basketball team of game fraud

Every losing team has their lame excuse just to soften the blow or impact of defeat! Either the winning team would be accused of fraud, or bribing the game officials just to point out that they should had won the game and not the latter team. This, I say, is a clear manifestation of a wrong psychological coping. Indeed that denying and not accepting the truth (i.e. losing) is the easiest way of escape.

However, with all due respect, and should be noted properly that, a person or a team, or even a university, is not guilty of any accusations unless proven otherwise in accordance with due process of the law. I think, that is very clear, and self-explanatory, so if you still had any problems air your grievances in the proper forum.

You were blessed to have a twice-to-beat advantage, but you were beaten twice! Isn't that very clear on your part, that UST's team had what it takes to over-ride your capabilities. Don't make any allegations that you, yourselves can't prove, that would be very shameful and derogatory on your part. You can't gain sympathy in ruining a team's reputation. So stop crying over a spilled milked!

yesterday's encounter with myself

it felt indifferent, knowing that i'm acting strange yesterday. my queer behavior lead to profound haughtiness. i know it's not me, yet i have done nothing to avert such behavior. ewan ko pero i just moved away from those people asking for help. i don't usually do this, kahit na alam ng lahat na mataray ako, at snobbish, yet i don't decline when someone needs help. siguro i'm just stressed out, and super bored.

anyway, when i got in the cab, or i should say an "fx" i ended up with two people that were so humiliating and gross to look at. not that i'm judging their physical appearance, but i was judging their character. i just don't know why "mapuans" (quoted) are so arrogant. i just can't imagine that "mapuans" likes to but in, with other people's conversations, and reacts with it as if their superior with regards to other schools in manila. imagine that these people were just over-hearing the conversations made by the other people in the cab.

what's more annoying with them was that the girl was so horny, initiating the move to have a "tabooed" action in a public place. The girl asked the guy "to lick" his hands, and fingers. after which, they made some "PDAs" that lasted and recurred more that five minutes.

my whole ride going home was filled with humiliation for them. parents should really discipline their offsprings more now a day. i'm not saying that they should inhibit the new generations liberalism towards what they feel, but parents should limit how these feelings should be expressed either verbally or in actions, because it's not nice to see couples making love in a public place. society still considers this as tabooed action.

boredom kills me... i just can't imagine why i can't get my life out of this mess. i had tried my best to change my routine, but i always ended up losing the enthusiasm that i have had.

if there is an over-the-counter medicine for boredom i will by it. and i swear i will.

regarding highest paying keywords

i was trying to experiment what adsense keywords would bring enough revenue for a blog or a website. i have found a suitable list that says a webmaster could earn more than 80 dollars. yet i doubt if the following were true, since its last update was three months ago. besides what misconstrues me most was whether the following keywords would generate an $80 per click revenue or an $80 revenue for the month you have used the keywords.

anyway the list of the keywords were as follows:

$82.95 austin dwi

$78.28 school loan consolidation

$76.80 college loan consolidation

$75.07 car insurance quotes

$75.03 auto insurance quotes

$71.96 college consolidation

$70.83 massachusetts auto insurance quotes

mostly the keywords stated pertains to lawyers and students loans, who wish to study graduate or even masters degree. they advertise scholoarships and grants. some of them even offer online degrees for international students.

if you would use these keywords, be advisable that it doesn't mean you'll earn the stated amount indicated. geographical or even demographic locations may affect one's revenue, and most importantly the click through rate of one's advertisement and the traffic of the site.

freebies

i just wonder why in different countries some stuffs (e.g. laptops, ipod, digital cameras, et.al) are given away for free at no extra cost. the only thing you have to do is either refer another member (networking) or answer a survey that pertains to the product. While in the philippines, you will work very, very hard and keeping most of your salary or allowance just for you to be able to have the things you need given away for free in another country!

it makes me envious, you see. i also wanted those things being enjoyed by the americans, australians, italians, spaniards, and the like. i wanted freebies as well. why can't some people organize those things in the philippines? why does everything in the face of the philippine archipelago has a monetary value?

hay, i want freebies...

treatment of mesothelioma

here is the treatment done on patients with mesothelioma.
From: http://www.mesotheliomamedical.com/treat_conventional.htm (source)

Mesothelioma treatment depends on several factors, including the stage of mesothelioma, the location of the tumor, and the age and overall health of the patient.

1. Surgery - Removal of Malignant Mesothelioma

Surgical removal of the tumor and surrounding tissue may be used depending on how far the mesothelioma has spread (the stage). The more advanced the stage, the less likely that surgery will be effective in treating mesothelioma.

Surgery for malignant mesothelioma can be used for long-term control or to cure the disease (aggressive surgery) or can be used to relieve pain (palliative).

a) Aggressive surgery

Aggressive mesothelioma surgery involves removal of the pleura, lung, diaphragm, or pericardim. (The type involving removal of the pleura is called extrapleural pheumonectomy.) The goal is to remove as much of the mesothelioma tumor as possible. This type of surgery, also called extraplueral pneumonectomy, typically is performed on younger patients in Stage 1 of mesothelioma.

Because of the complexity and the high risks involved with this type of surgery, some mesothelioma hospitals do not perform the procedure. Also, different mesothelioma treatment centers may have different criteria for accepting patients for surgery. Therefore, it is important to check with a mesothelioma hospital to see if you meet its criteria.

b) Palliative Surgery

Palliative surgery is typically used in the more advanced stages of mesothelioma. The goal is to relieve or control symptoms caused by fluid collection or by the tumor compressing the lung or other organs. It is not intended to cure mesothelioma.

Pleurectomy/decortization is usually a palliative operation. It is used in situations where the entire tumor cannot be removed. It is effective in controlling the accumulation of fluid in the lungs (effusion), and the pain caused by mesothelioma.

Thoracentesis is also used to treat effusion in pleural mesothelioma. This treatment involves inserting a needle into the chest in order to drain the fluid. Thoracentesis does not involve surgical removal of the mesothelial cells.

2. Radiation

Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill mesothelioma cancer cells and to shrink tumors. There are two types of radiation therapy.

External radiation therapy uses a machine outside the body that beams x-rays to the location of the mesothelioma.

Brachytherapy involves putting chemicals that produce radiation directly into the site of the mesothelioma cancer. This is done by inserting a thin plastic tube into the chest or abdomen.

Because of the location of malignant mesothelioma, it is very difficult to deliver high-enough doses of radiation to kill the tumor without damaging surrounding organs. As a result, it is unclear whether radiation therapy is a successful method of treating mesothelioma. It has, however, been effective in killing remaining tumor cells after surgery has been performed.

Radiation therapy is also used as a palliative therapy to relieve symptoms of mesothelioma, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, and internal bleeding.

Radiation therapy has several side effects, such as fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. Although these side effects are sometimes temporary, you should let your doctor know, since they often can be controlled.

3. Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses drugs to treat mesothelioma cancer. It is administered either orally (through pills) or by injecting the drugs directly into the veins (intravenously), the muscles, the chest cavity (intrapleurally), or the abdominal cavity (intraperitoneally). The goal of mesothelioma chemotherapy is for the drug to enter the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body in order to destroy the cancer cells.

Several drugs have been used, either individually or in combination with others, to treat mesothelioma. Some of the single-agent drugs include:

Adriamycin (doxorubicin), which is the most studied and, currently, the most effective single agent;

epirubicin

carboplatin

detorubicin

pirarubucin

mitomucin

cisplatin.

Single-agent therapy has been only modestly successful in treating mesothelioma, with studies showing a response rate in the 10 to 20% range.

Because of the relatively low response rate of single-agent therapy in treating mesothelioma, combinations of these drugs have been used to increase their effectiveness. Although some researchers have reported high response rates to these therapies, these rates have not been consistent, and more research is necessary.

Chemotherapy drugs are generally very toxic. Therefore, a doctor must be very careful in monitoring the condition of a patient during therapy. Some of the more common side effects include nausea, vomiting, loss or appetite, hair loss, and fatigue. Chemotherapy can also result in low blood cell counts, which increases the risk of infection and bleeding or bruising.

Side effects vary depending on the treatment, and generally disappear after treatment is completed.

mesothelioma

i was intrigued by this term over the internet and tried to research upon what it is.

According to a certain website, it is an asbestos-related cancer in the linings of the lungs. (quite intriguing?) This is caused, as the same site suggests, by inhaling asbestos in the air. (and i don't know what asbestos is?). it is quite schocking indeed that most of the products in the market contains this kind of chemical, which causes mesothelioma. and i think, we in the third world should be informed if a certain product contains asbestos, for we might be in danger of having the disease.

symptoms for mesothelioma were as follows:

chest pain

hard to breathe

persistent cough

shortness of breath

there is treatment and diagnosis however, the procedures used by doctors are all invasive in the body, most specifically placing tubes on the lungs and draining the fluids.
